System Posts

This week I want to focus on onboarding and organizing knowledge. Last week we deployed personal feed and system posts. This enables us to start giving welcome posts and tutorials to new users. So now you can get a welcome post when you join the community, explaining the lay of the land to you.

Also, when you become a community creator, a system post triggered by the membership upgrade can walk you through how to create your own community.

System posts are actually attached to badges, so they appear in your feed when you acquire a specific badge. This opens up a lot of great opportunities for gamification as well.

Libraries

I want to make libraries more useful. Libraries are currently a way to organize posts around a topic, and to make them permission-gated. I think, if we properly combine libraries with badges and quests, we can make something that is much more useful.

They can then turn into courses where the material reveals itself as you progress and complete tests. Or journeys, games and challenges where you compete with others to reach the goal. Or research projects where people can collaborate on specific topics.
